Getting Started

Account

Detailed account setup flow for sandbox testing first, then moving to production credentials.

Account Setup Guide

Use this flow if you want to start in sandbox, test the APIs, and only complete the live onboarding steps when you are ready for production.

Production note

Sandbox testing does not require you to finish KYC immediately. Production credentials do. If you intend to go live, finalize KYC before requesting or using live API access.
  1. 1

Sign Up at the Merchant Portal

Open https://merchant.prod.afropays.co/auth/register and follow the signup flow there to create your account.

Use your business details and verify your email so you can access the dashboard.

  2. 2

Skip KYC If You Are Only Testing

After signup you may be prompted to enter KYC details. If you only want to test the APIs first, you can ignore that step and go back to the dashboard.

If your plan is to get production credentials, complete the KYC flow before moving forward with a live setup.

  3. 3

    Switch to Sandbox Mode

In the dashboard sidebar, click Switch to Sandbox and confirm the prompt.

Once confirmed, the portal will move you into the sandbox environment for test activity.

  4. 4

Create and Use Sandbox API Keys

While you are in sandbox mode, create a sandbox API key and use it with the payment endpoints.

You can also review your sandbox transactions from the Transactions page while you test your integration.

  5. 5

    Move to Live After Testing

When testing is complete, switch back to live mode, finish your KYC documents, and wait for approval.

After approval, create your production API key and replace the sandbox base URLs and sandbox API key in your system with the live values.

Production Access

KYC review is required before live processing. After approval, create your production API key, switch your system away from sandbox URLs, and confirm that no test credentials remain in your live environment.
